Field Street, Kings Cross, London by Project Orange

Field Street

Situated in the heart of the Kings Cross regeneration area is this mixed-use development by Project Orange

Field Street

The site abuts the Thameslink Railway station to the south, with the main elevation and commercial access on Field Street. Residential access is located on Leeke Street. Originally, the site had a single storey print works but is now home to music rehearsal studios.

Field Street

Sitting on top of the existing roof line is the new extension, which increased floor space by 80 per cent and added an additional two floors of residential space above.

Field Street

The external facade is clad with oxidised copper scales which are said to soften the geometry of the building. The roof is planted with a sedum blanket.
