This is the new temporary Prada shop at Place Beauvau 92, in Paris, opened to the public until February 2010
The shop front by architect Roberto Baciocchi takes inspiration from Paris’ first bridge constructed from metal, the Mirabeau Bridge.
The imagery of Paris penetrates through the shop-front and brings the city in to the interior. This effect is further expressed with the striking perspective illusions and intriguing routes through the two-storey, 570m² space.
The ground floor is split into three areas and recalls outdoor life intrinsic to the city. In the first room, the bridge imagery is further enforced, with a grand trajectory towards the stair case. Mannequins are staged along the route to replicate a Parisian street scene.
Combining innovation with the brand’s history, black and white marble tiles have been used to resemble the original flooring in Prada’s 1913 store at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan.
