Italian practice studiometrico has converted an old cinema in Milan into a new flagship clothing store featuring a suspended skateboarding bowl.

All the furniture is mounted on wheels and can be freely placed on the original marble floor. A system of wooden elements has been designed to display skateboards, sunglasses and goggles. Comvert partners, collaborators and employees will work one shift a month in the shop so that they are in close contact with the products they work on.

The 200m² skateboarding bowl, suspended 6m above the products depot, is a ‘dream come true’ for Comvert’s partners, employees, friends and team-riders. It consists of a glue-laminated wooden element and steel curved beams and was designed by Comvert partners and engineering practice Atelier-LC. The bowl is the only one of its kind in Italy.

There’s nothing like watching people do what they love.

In any case, the wood paneling and large steps (6th photo from the top) are inviting. aside from the skate ‘pool’, I think combined elements have that effect of being inviting.
