This is the new civic centre for County Limerick in the Republic of Ireland, by Ahrends Burton and Koralek (ABK) Architects
The project consolidates a local area office for the county council, a district court for the Department of Justice and a branch library into one single civic centre.
The centre is located on the site of a 19th-century workhouse, the remains of which can be seen in the design of the new court entrance.
The library and local area office are connectd by large pivot doors to offer various configurations of the space.
The project was commissioned by the local authority as part of its improvements of local public services
